Baked "Boiled" Eggs. At first I was very skeptical, but hey making hard boiled eggs an be tricky, you don't cook them long enough, you over cook them, need I go on? So Pintrest said to preheat your oven to 325*, place eggs in a muffin tin, and pop them into the oven for 30 minutes. Well I followed the directions to the 'T' and they came out PERFECTLY (if I do say so myself)!I think my husband was more in awe of the whole thing because at Easter he kept telling everyone "she baked those deviled eggs"! So I would have to say "Baked Boiled Eggs" was a PASS!
Fondant Frosting from a store bought frosting jar. As most of you know I own my own cupcake business and EVERYTHING I make is made from scratch. So when I saw this I figured I would never use it. Never say never. My friend asked me to make cupcakes for her daughters first birthday party, cupcakes, no problem! Then she asked if I could make Hannah her own personal cake.... Umm cake??? OK... So I made the cake and then looked at it like it had three eyes when it came time to frost. Then a light, I happen to have a tub of frosting in the pantry! So I looked at my Pintrest and found this little tid bit of information! "To make store bought frosting look amazing, heat the tub of frosting for 15 seconds and then stir, repeat until frosting is runny, but not super hot (I did this part twice). Stir the frosting and let it cool for a minute or so. After it has slightly cooled (but is still runny) pour over the cake". So I again taking Hannah's cake into the hands of Pintrest, I followed the directions, and it worked out great! my only complaint is that I made a star shaped cake and it was a little tricky to frost the sides. I imagine this would work a lot better on a round cake, but I have to say it was a PASS!
